Veteran's Memorial High School

Huntress Associates Inc. prepared the design and oversaw the renovation
of a 400 meter track at Veteran's Memorial High School in Peabody,
Massachusetts. Working with the Athletic Department, coaches and grounds
crews, HAI reviewed the athletic program needs, and developed preliminary
costs estimate for the new facility. In finalizing those costs estimates
HAI reviewed available materials, installation costs and long-term
maintence costs. The new program includes an 6 lane 400 meter track & associated
field events. Working with Marchionda & Associates, the project
team provided a complete topographic survey of existing conditions
and specified all materials and details in preparation of the construction
documents.The project was completed in the fall of 2003 at an approximate
cost of $250,000.00.
At the conclusion of the project HAI was invited back to prepare
construction documents for the renovation of seven tennis courts
adjacent to the track and field. The renovation of the tennis courts
included asphalt repair, new fencing, tennis court surfacing, nets
and posts at an approximate cost of $150,000.00
