Carter Farm Open Space Development
North Andover, Massachusetts

Because of the unique ecological and aesthetic value of Carter Farm, Huntress Associates, Inc. proposed the preservation of 90 of the 110-acres as permanent open space. This open space will be deeded to the Towns of North Andover and Boxford, allowing these communities to maintain a significant sense of place. Within the remaining 20 acres, HAI sited the development of 17 single-family homes, a village green, playground and three multipurpose athletic fields. The project architecture is traditional, and the streetscape includes pedestrian scale elements such as low picket fences, ornamental street lighting, sidewalks, and street trees.
